FAQ

Common Questions

Where do you work on the boat?

At your marina, storage facility, or driveway — wherever it's parked. We bring everything.

Can you remove years of oxidation from gelcoat?

Yes. Professional-grade compounds and polishers restore heavily oxidized gelcoat to near-original shine.

What types of boats do you detail?

Pontoons, bass boats, ski boats, fishing boats and sailboats. Call for larger vessel quotes.

Which Oklahoma lakes do you service near?

Canton Lake, Lake Watonga, Foss Reservoir, Fort Supply Lake and all NW Oklahoma lakes within our 40-mile radius.

How often should a boat be detailed?

At minimum once per season. Boats stored in full sun need more frequent attention to prevent oxidation.

Why Oklahoma Lake Conditions Demand Marine Detailing

Canton Lake and NW Oklahoma Are Hard on Gelcoat

Boats in northwest Oklahoma face some of the most demanding conditions for gelcoat and marine finishes anywhere in the region. Canton Lake — the Walleye Capital of Oklahoma — sits in open high plains country with no tree coverage and full UV exposure from sunrise to sunset. Foss Reservoir, Fort Supply Lake and other western Oklahoma lakes share the same conditions: intense sun, hard alkaline water, wind-driven grit and temperature extremes.

Gelcoat oxidation is the most common result. UV rays break down the polymer resins in the gelcoat surface, causing it to chalk, fade and lose its gloss. What starts as a slight dullness becomes a chalky, porous surface that absorbs stains, grows algae easier, and eventually degrades structurally if left untreated. The good news is that oxidation is almost always reversible with professional-grade compounds and polishers — even cases that look severe.

Beyond oxidation, Oklahoma's hard water leaves calcium and mineral deposits on hull surfaces above the waterline. Canvas and upholstery bake and fade under summer sun. Interior plastics and vinyl crack without UV protection. A full marine detail addresses all of these issues systematically — hull restoration, interior deep clean, canvas treatment, and protection applied across every surface.
